You partner will have to sponsor you under common-law category as you are not married.
I am British/Canadian citizen and my husband is British, I am sponsoring him under the spouse category.

Thankyou for your reply. His conviction is quite serious but more to do with convicted by association rather than actually do anything. Back in the 70's it seems the police were not so law abiding...
