Godspeed, boys. Looks like I'm out of this one. Won't stop me applying and until I'm 100% rejected I have no intention of giving up!

Re: IEC 2015

Feeling the same way kswoosh. I'm in the same boat of having participated twice, once pre-2011. Who knows if they'll clarify it further, but at this point I'm applying regardless.

Re: IEC 2015

So, much like you I went through an organisation before 2011 and then with IEC after 2011. I have always been told that because I went prior to 2011 and there was a big change in the rules that year,...

Re: IEC 2015

Yep- take the positives. We also know now that they will be announcing the dates in advance. Today is a day of good news and bad news. Hang in there!

Re: IEC 2015

I think the greyest of the grey areas is the time limit between being issued a CAL and submitting documents (police checks, application form etc).

For me personally, I have sent off for a police...

Re: IEC 2015

Just going to reply to my own question in case anyone has similar concerns-- this is from the CIC website on Medicals:

You will need a medical exam if you:

1. have lived temporarily for six or...

Re: IEC 2015

It'll be after the initial Kompass application process. Either in the 15 day document-gathering window or something they check you've done at the border. This page shows you all the approved doctors...

Re: IEC 2015

Hi guys, just been looking at the medical requirements. I lived in South Korea for 1 year from June 2013 - June 2014. South Korea is on the list of countries that require a medical assessment to go...

Re: Allowed to Leave Canada form Qs

Thanks- that's pretty much what I figured.

I have a follow-up question:

I am going to try to apply for an IEC visa for 2015. Do you think my Allowed to Leave Canada issuance will negatively...

Allowed to Leave Canada form Qs

Hi all,

Does anyone have experience or expertise regarding re-entering Canada after having been issued an Allowed to Leave Canada form?

I was issued one in September 2012 and narrowly missed...

Re: Getting ready for IEC 2014

Has anyone heard anything re: changes to the length of IEC visas? I've read a couple of times on forums and such that it's possible CIC is looking at changing IECs to 2 years, instead of the usual...

Re: A tale of dumbassery and deportation

I was lucky not to get officially deported. The Canadian border official seemed to have a soft spot for me, even if it didn't feel like it at the time. The flip side to being given a chance to book...

A tale of dumbassery and deportation

Hi expats!

I've written a few times on the forum about how I could go about staying in Canada longer, coming to terms with going back to the UK after two years, and such things. Well, here's a...

Re: My expiring work-permit and the BC dream

That's really great news, thankyou!

I haven't found anything referencing the 18 months of 3 years thing, perhaps that's later in the application (hopefully not a requirement at all!)

It's so...

Re: My expiring work-permit and the BC dream

Wow thanks so much for the helpful response! I'm excited to hear that it's actually two IEC visas back-to-back that would count me out? My first one was with BUNAC, you're right. Does that mean I can...

My expiring work-permit and the BC dream

Hello all :),

I've been in Canada since September 2010. I'm 24, work at Scotiabank, and have just a couple of months ago split up with my long-term girlfriend. We had flimsy plans in place to...

Re: International Experience Canada

Sorry for not starting a new thread, but this seems to be the place for questions on the IEC application, and mine's a very straightforward one:

I haven't applied yet, anticipating my Police Check...

Re: Life decisions and staying in Canada. Help requested!

Another option I looked at was leaving when my visa's up, re-applying through BUNAC and coming back once that all came through... is that what you mean? I wasn't aware I could get one "for when mine...
