Re: Flights to and from Neom

Some of my colleagues stop over in Istanbul and wherever else before they get home, and the same way back. Costs next to nothing and offers a really relaxed trip with multiple beer stops. Word of...

Re: Saudi work visa

My visa agent told me to be upfront and honest bout anything that could crop up, as they weren't as strict as it seemed, but it would allow the agent to make the right noises before it was sent...

Re: NEOM COMMUNITY UPDATE

oh, I am sure there is one guy manually removing bags from the plane and walking them to the carousel for drop off.

Re: Learning Arabic - Modern Standard Arabic

I've seen people advertise small classes on meetup, so albeit virtual, you should be able to query the tutors. A couple of my colleagues have found dedicated tutors offering lessons 5 day a week, I...

Re: Accommodation Challenges in Neom (NC2)

Getting a Saudi visa is a bit of a dark art. No one quite knows how it's done, but one day it appears. Seems pretty standard from everyone I speak to, and includes my own experience. It's a bit like...

Re: Buying/investing in UK as a UK Expat

I sked my mortgage advisor in the UK about buying property and mortgage implications. Without a firm answer, he could share he had worked with others in similar situations, and lenders would require...

Re: Cost of living in Riyadh-KSA

Even possible when no one is actually moving.

On a serious note, stay off the roads in KSA. It's a death trap.

Re: Saudi medical for visa

I was never asked for a stool sample. Blood test, x ray and eye test. Then you repeat it all again when you get on the ground.

No one knows what the Saudi embassy requests, my agent admitted this...

My first ever friends (two brothers) as an "exbrat" are quite strange, they even got world famous after releasing their seminal hit, "what the fox says".

Re: Job Offer - Kuwait

We've been equipped with some Ford trucks here and they are awful. In and out of the workshops constantly. And by that, I mean..who'd want to put down money for a decent car in KSA? It'll get dented...

Re: Slightly odd expat men

I've lived in a few countries and continents before, but the concentration of expat weirdos here in KSA is too damn high..Some are amusing to observe, but others are painful and outright dangerous.
