You don't need PR or a health card to be considered resident for tax purposes - just ask those on IEC's! :lol:

+1. If you're eligible now, apply now as things change so often in Canadian immigration that you don't want to wait and then find you're not longer able to get a visa.

That's probably why the threads you found were conflicting, because things change so often in Canadian immigration and with Red Seal etc....

Exactly, that's the reason why most say that implied status doesn't apply to those on IEC - as it's only for those renewing or extending their visa, but the IEC can't be renewed or extended. It...

So did you not get the LMO? But you switched to a visitor visa after your IEC expired? So they won't think you overstayed, as you were allowed to stay on a visitor visa after your IEC expired.

So if you have Canadian citizenship, then you can just sponsor your husband and child for PR (that's assuming your child isn't also Canadian, do check on that). Easy peasy then, and doesn't matter...
