Re: L2 admin processing website issue

Not a clue I’m afraid. All you can do it go on Monday with all your paperwork I guess. What does your status say on CEAC out of interest?

Re: L2 admin processing website issue

That’s a bit odd, it almost sounds like you hadn’t applied for a visa and only your husband had. Just to check, you definitely applied for one previously? The interview was for both of you - your...

Re: Questions about permanent residency visa + more

‘Twas a pesky spammer, which is why everything they said was nonsense!

Edited your list just to delete the quote.

Re: 'Maintained Status' query spousal inland PR application

Sorry, but this person wasn’t genuine and didn’t have a clue! The bit you’ve quoted is for those who are on work permits, not visitors. I’ll dig in to the regs tomorrow and try and find you a proper...

Re: Moving to Orange County from London

That's a pretty rubbish relocation package tbh, you'll have to spend a lot yourself so that's something else to factor in to your financial calculations. And you say that if it doesn't work out you...

Re: Moving to Orange County from London

I'm not sure if I know, the company provide the figure, it's done by a third party and updated annually. It just tells us what the cost of living adjustment is that we get extra each month. I'll dig...

Re: Can I improve my IELTS score after ITA?

Do you mean the ECA provider isn't recognised, or where she did her education isn't?

Re: Moving to Orange County from London

Just out of interest I've just had a quick look - using the Smart Asset calculator it shows a tax rate of 33.47% for a $155k salary in Orange County....

Re: Moving to Orange County from London

It's bread that gets me here, $5 for a decent loaf. Luckily I make my own most of the time as we get through about 5 loaves a week as a family, so that would be $25 a week on bread alone.

Re: Moving to Orange County from London

No idea about LA (we're in Boston), but our living costs are far higher than they were in the UK. We get a 'cost of living adjustment' as part of our expat package, and that's £3k a month (tax free)...

Re: Can I improve my IELTS score after ITA?

What do you mean ‘documentation is questionable? How many points short do you think you’ll be?

And is it you or your spouse that wants to re-take IELTS?

Re: What to do with primary home before moving to US?

They're presumably aware that if they decide to put it in a Ltd company then they will have to pay stamp duty on it (as well as the costs of setting up the company and annual running costs)? Depends...

Re: Timeline For Spousal Sponsorship via London

It just means that you'd need to be prepared to leave Canada if your PR application was refused for any reason, but you don't need to show concrete plans to return after x amount of days. You are...

Re: FSW education question

Hi, welcome to BE.

Firstly, why are you looking at FSW if you’re an electrician? The FST program is what you need.

Did you do the apprenticeship in Canada?

Re: Timeline For Spousal Sponsorship via London

I'd take that with a pinch of salt tbh, go with the official timelines and then be pleasantly surprised if it's quicker.

Means you can move and wait in Canada whilst you wait for PR. You won't...

Re: Moving back to UK with US & Canadian Citizens

Hi, welcome to BE.

Your kids are presumably already British citizens? So they just need their British passports. Your wife will need sponsoring for a spousal visa, I'll move your thread to the...

Yes, but from the link above you can't go there and apply (which makes sense….visas are for entry to a country, you can't normally apply for them in that country). So if you follow the info in the...

They're right. No way of expediting it unfortunately, it takes as long as it takes. Could be weeks or months, hopefully if it's something minor then it'll be quick, just keep an eye on your status...

Re: Help with 221g

It could just be that somebody shares the same name as you and they need to check you're not that person. Or something simple that needs background checking. I know it's easier said than done but all...
