Re: 457 visa scrapped

WOW! Seems to lack a lot of detail yet and for sure like everything, there are a few that are using 457's for what it is not meant for. But I know a lot of Australian business, especially in regional...

Re: The sunshine coast

My wife does general admin and accounts. When we lived in Sydney, she worked for two major finance blue chips and could walk from one job to another. Here, she spent a year applying for at least 15...

Re: The sunshine coast

Hi mate,

We have lived up at the northern end of SSC for last 3 years (before we were 6 years in Sydney). You have done the main thing - getting a job. Employment prospects here are pretty dire...

Re: High Blood pressure and pulse at the time of medicals - reason for declining 190

I think it depends on the individual doctor. Mine has always been high because I am over weight...he just muttered something like 'that's a bit high' and got on with the next test. Not really...

Re: Pool Safety Compliance question (with drawing)

Unfortunately, this is Australia...and worse Queensland. Common sense doesn't come it to it.

A 39 page rule book does:...

Re: Pool Safety Compliance question (with drawing)

No expert, but from the QBCC website:

"For fences at least 1800mm high, the 900mm non-climbable zone may be on the inside of the fence and must be measured from the top of the inside. This...

Re: Noosa meet up QLD

We are in Peregian (south of Noosa), and although we don't have kids, as you are coming on a WHV I think us being 43 and 50 years old might be the wrong age bracket for you?

Re: what suburb south of sydney?

Defo Sutherland Shire.... Sutherland, Loftus, Gymea, Miranda, Cronulla. Easy drive through to Holsworthy against the traffic.

Re: Adelaide or Sunshine Coast ?

From the Sunshine Coast...

Don't come here unless you already have a job. 300+ people applying for many positions.

Be absolutely sure that you have good internet. Many areas have no more...

Re: Moving To The Sunshine Coast - Qld

We made the move from Sydney to north end of Sunny Coast 2 years ago and for most part love it. If you are already used to the frustrations of living outside a major city you be fine. BUT make sure...

Re: 186 - New (Employers) Training benchmarks condition

When I did my 186 about 6 years (because my lazy employer got me to fill in both his paperwork and mine!) there was a section where you had to talk about training investment as a percent, I'm sure it...

Re: Green Slip? Pink Slip?

Yep, its a pain. Absolutely, don't accept the car without a pink slip and it MUST have been issued within 30 days prior to you buying the car.

Re: Green Slip? Pink Slip?

Pink Slip - Similar to MOT, except that the seller has to give it to you and it has to have been done within 30 days of selling the car to you. He cannot give you one from 4 months ago! Don't accept...

Re: Visa processed confirmation?

I would not 100% trust automatic notification. When we got our PR visa, it was only after two frustrating phone calls to Immi enquiries did we get the news that it had been 'finalised' one month...

Agree, we live in Peregian Springs - just behind Coolum. Travelling anywhere near Brisbane everyday would be a nightmare, but its do-able just once a week.

Re: Submiting Citizenship Documents

Yes, just colour scans. Citizenship seems a bit more relaxed than the rest of the visa processes. It should be - you'll have been paying their wages in your taxes for at least the last four years by...

Re: Working as a Consultant in Australia but based in NZ

I think you are looking in to it far too deeply. You will be living in NZ, getting paid in NZ and paying tax in NZ. You will simply be coming to Oz when required. Its no different that when I go from...

Re: Working in Australia Cryogenic Gas Test Technician

As that is a very specific job, I think you would have to find out what broader category it falls in to on the skills list. SOL or CSOL.

It might be that you need some 'help' of a sponsor to find...
