Re: Tele

Good grief, Inhumans was boring! We couldn't get through it.

Agree, though, about The Good Place and The Orville. And great that they are back to back -- laughed out loud several times in each.

Enjoying the cricket?

Anyone else enjoying the cricket? Delighted that we are now able to get it on ESPN, which I have free on my cable package. Great way of making folks back home jealous with their Sky-high...

Boat Race

Who else here is cheering for Oxford?

It's on BBC World News, by the way, live. If you have TWC, there's no point searching for it -- it will come up on a locked down pay only channel when BBC...

Re: Cricket World Cup

Yep -- you called it!

Must admit that I am enjoying the TMS podcasts this world cup -- at least one a day at the moment. Great moment also yesterday in the Vaughan & Tuffers show when Tuffers...

Re: Cricket World Cup

Haha. Key to enjoying the World Cup is not expecting England to do well. Just the same as the football. Today Australia were far too good four us.

Re: Cricket World Cup

I'm afraid I paid the $99 for the ESPN service and I'm watching now in glorious HD on the Roku. It *is* expensive but the service looks excellent -- full replays that you can rewind and fast...

Re: Cricket World Cup

Yeah, same. In 2010, Willow had the rights and all was well. I had assumed that now ESPN had picked it up that it would be on ESPN3, like the home tests.

Cricket World Cup

How are any of you planning to watch the Cricket World Cup? I am bitterly disappointed that Willow TV has lost the rights -- I've been with Willow since moving to the US in 2005. My next hope was...

Re: the Scottish independence issue

Mind you, great benefit of being an expat that we can watch this stuff at a civilized hour. It's 3.48 am in England (and Scotland :) )

Re: the Scottish independence issue

C-SPAN 3 coverage got off to a shocking start -- took them ten-fifteen minutes to get the audio sorted. But now we're up and running. Also on BBC World News starting at 11.

Re: the Scottish independence issue

Have noodled around on TV listings some more and it looks like BBC World News will also carry the "Scotland Decides" programme from BBC One. Their coverage kicks in a little later, though, at 6pm. ...

Re: Tele

Quite enjoying it so far myself. Can't imagine how they will keep it going for more than a season. But the woman playing Norma is great. And the look of the programme is spot on -- very much in...

Re: The Euros

Good coverage so far, I think. Nice HD pic on ESPN and commentary fine, esp. Dark and Macca. Annoyed that the Five Live commentary cut out for international users, but beggars can't be choosers,...

Re: BBC in America

Yes, a whole load of options these days. Other than bit-torrent, it might also be worth mentioning Expat Shield, which is free, and is an ok way of catching the IPlayer on your PC. One new thing if...

Re: Five Live for International Users

Yeah, come on Murray! I was really annoyed with ESPN who only showed the first set of Murray's last match before switching to Serena Williams. Don't these people realize there are British ex-pats...

Us expats! There are plans to release a subscription-based iPlayer for international users in 2011, initially on the iPad. Plenty of things to worry about (price, platform), but at least it is...

Re: BBC TV iPlayer

I've been using Expat Shield for a few weeks now and it's excellent. Free too. Great solution for watching iPlayer over here until the BBC make it available to us next year.

Re: ashes cricket

Yes, Willow TV is the way to go online. I pay about $150-$200 a year and that gets you everything. They have just introduced a new HQ feed. You can choose the Aussie coverage or the Sky coverage...
