Looks like prep year is similar to reception in the uk, although it is non compulsory in Oz....

hi, we will stay with relatives in Bridgeman Downs to start with, until our stuff arrives, then look at the Northern suburbs, Albany Creek, Eatons Hill, Carseldeine etc.

Rasa Shangri La was recommended on here before, when I was looking for the same thing.It is a resort, with kids pool etc and on the beach.
