Re: Business Class Airfares to UK / Europe - approx $2700 - $2800 rtn!

We flew to Sydney from Brisbane in order to have first class seats on Thai (and to spend Easter with my wife's family) and paid (I think) about $18.50 (on Qantas) each way for each bag over the one...

Re: Passenger Arrival Card - changes to food declaration!

We flew back into Sydney on 11th May, declared our British lollies and Italian olive oil, were put in a queue with about 6-7 others whilst the dog sniffed our bags and were then waved through. Much...

Re: Business Class Airfares to UK / Europe - approx $2700 - $2800 rtn!

You have to be a member (of Dividend Miles) for at least 12 days before you can buy miles so sign up ASAP - no cost is involved.

Re: Vendor breaking contract to sell.

I don't wish to appear picky, but shouldn't the interest you have paid on your mortgage come into this calculation somewhere? Was that more or less than the rent you would have paid?

Re: Old UK driving licence

It was red with a nice stiff cover (like a current passport) and plenty of blank pages for court endorsements! Not that I ever had any!

The slip of paper you got from the driving test examiner to...

Old UK driving licence

I was sorting through a box of old documents in the basement yesterday and came across my old UK driving licence - the old green paper one without a photo. It states that it is valid until the day...

Re: Best neighbourhood(s) in/around Wollongong

Shellharbour for beach, cafes, etc, Albion Park for trains. Anywhere round there on the southern edge of Lake Illawarra is pretty good.

Re: Maris Piper Potatoes

No, you won't find Maris Piper anywhere here. Apparently Desiree is a good substitute: Eureka and Riverina Russet have also been mentioned as being developed by crossing Maris Piper with other...

Re: can you sum up these different areas of south Aus

I wonder what makes me think that GarryP lives in Melbourne? Can't be his totally unbiassed assessment of the various cities, can it?

Re: Car Insurance

There aren't any comparison sites which include the major insurers (Allianz, AAMI, RACQ, NRMA, Suncorp, etc) - at least, none that I have found.

In alphabetical order:

ADELAIDE - the only large city in South Australia (the state). Lovely city, unique in the way the CBD is surrounded by parkland which separate it from the suburbs. Because...

Re: Adelaide road trip?

Burra. Go to the tourist office and they give you a map which takes you round all the historic sites, plus a key to get into the locked ones (the miners cave dwellings, Redruth Gaol, etc). Then on...

Re: What 10 Things should you know before you move!

This depends on which state you are in. NSW requires an annual inspection on cars over 5 years old, QLD requires an inspection on all vehicles at change of ownership, SA doesn't have any inspection,...

Re: Business Class Airfares to UK / Europe - approx $2700 - $2800 rtn!

Re: Queensland demerit

I've had one in 30 years, and that was in Victoria. In 14 years living in Queensland I've never had one - and that isn't because I drive everywhere at a snail's pace.
