Re: Electric shutter repairs - East Algarve

Sorry all, but I’ve just gone through and deleted all mentions of the phone number - BE is a public forum so it’ll get picked up by every spambot & weirdo out there! It’s no problem to put a link to...

Re: NEOM Potential Job

Depends on the country one is coming from and when s/he turns 4. If their birthday is between now and the end of August, they'd be starting school in September in the UK.

Re: AAIP / PR conditions

What have you applied for - AAIP or the Federal PR app? Each takes about 6 months, so a year or so in total, and it’s not clear what stage you’re at.

Either way I’m afraid I’d say you need to work...

Re: Flight cancellation - green card (am I logged as out of US with USCIS)?

You can’t use the i-94 page as a LPR.

Don’t forget to claim compensation if you’re entitled to it - https://www.britishairways.com/content/information/delayed-or-cancelled-flights/compensation

Re: Should I move to Canada or Not?

Is it still an area where people live because it’s all they can afford though? Or is it somewhere like Streatham that is now super trendy and popular??

Re: Moving to riyadh

Unfortunately the OP hasn't been on the forum for well over a year, so isn't likely to see your question. I'll close this now as it's an old thread, feel free to start a new one.

Re: Edmonton Police Service, Alberta, Canada

I can't help with the police side of things at all, but I would strongly suggest you search the main Canada forum for info on the visa medical and/or autism provision in Canada. There will be a lot...

Re: UK sim for CRA login

What phone do you have? If it's new enough you can just get an eSIM online and set it up before you leave Canada, then switch between the two lines on your phone.

Have a great trip.

Re: Nonimmigrant Visa Waiver of Ineligibility Application

If it still says it's 'approved', then the visa hasn't even been printed yet, so not sure it's looking likely unfortunately. Is this for a family holiday, can you get a later flight to join them...

Re: UK Non-Resident Landlord Scheme, Relocation to Germany and rental taxation

If you had a refund of taxes when you left the UK, then that sounds like you did fill in the P85. I don't think HMRC will contact you to tell you your obligations though, the onus will be on you to...

Re: Nonimmigrant Visa Waiver of Ineligibility Application

You do have the right to get it back, and can request that.

Does your status say issued now? Fingers tightly crossed for you.

They never came back after posting just twice. It'll have to remain one of life's great mysteries.

Re: EE - who to make main applicant?

OK, so if his NOC is 70010 then that's 50 points for a job offer rather than 200. Unfortunately that means neither of you would be scoring enough even with a job offer, so I'd definitely hold off on...

Re: EE - who to make main applicant?

Hi, welcome to BE.

Personally, I would hold off for now - if you know you won't score enough and you're well below then there's not much point in paying for an ECA and IELTS which may expire,...

Re: Wife changed her mind

I'm usually all for going for it, but in this instance I'd stay put. One of you is going to have to compromise, and I'd say in your situation it would be far better if that were you. It doesn't sound...

Re: Nonimmigrant Visa Waiver of Ineligibility Application

It normally changes to 'issued' when it's actually been printed and put in your passport. Are you picking it up or having it couriered back?

Re: Help deciding if moving to Maine is a good idea

SW London to Maine is going to be a big change, that's for sure. If the job is remote, could you not move elsewhere in the US? Somewhere like Boston maybe so your fiancé is still close to his family...

Re: Spouse Visa Application from Canada

It can be quicker, and you can get it if outside the country as long as you're prepared to fly back at fairly short notice for the ceremony and test. It's just worth considering, your PR won't lapse...

Re: Moving to LA in two weeks, would appreciate a sense check!

No idea on LA as I'm on the opposite coast, but you might want to triple your grocery bill - ours is three times what we paid in the UK. And yes to car insurance being higher, by a terrifying amount...
