Re: Is my residency certificate still valid?

Please don't call it that - there is no such thing as a "green paper NIE". The NIE comes on a white sheet of paper or with the CUE (horrible name for it) when you register as resident.

Re: TIE - Passport Checks

Not sure I understand all of this, however - been here 20 years as a legal resident so have a 10-year TIE now. Passport stamped each way.

I think it is no more than who you see on the day.

Re: TIE - Passport Checks

My passport is always stamped on the way out of Spain and the way back in whether I show my TIE or not - there really is no issue (other than filling the pages)

Re: Spanish villa owner not returning holiday rental deposit

Ask them for their complaints book. If they don't have one then report them to the local tourist office and/or police

Re: Query re health insurance

PLEASE, don't choose based on cost alone.

The most important thing is to find a company that has doctors and hospitals close to where you will be living. The last thing you need is one whp's...

Re: Making a will

All the clause allows is for you to decide who you want assets left to.

If you are happy with Spanish laws regarding this, then there is no need to add the clause to the will

You ought to have...

Re: UK state pension in Spain

State pensions can be paid directly into any Spanish bank - in fact you get very favourable rates by doing so.

For a UK bank as a foreign resident, try NatWest

Re: UK state pension in Spain

I have just started receiving my pension and was surprised to instantly get free prescriptions. Previously I was paying over 100€ per month (and that's subsidised)

Re: Gestagua

I don't know about your water company but many only bill quarterly. So, if the last one was in December, then the next is about now or maybe April

Re: IVA on Electricity to rise to 10% from 1 January 2024

I've just been told by my company (Gana Energia) that the prices are coming down substantially on 1st April. This will far outweigh the increase in IVA

Re: Completing the Tasa 790/052 from the UK for a Visa

I don't think the S1 can be registered online - I tried recently. I have a Cl@ve and a digital signature but there was no way of doing it. In the end I had to attend the INSS and even then they got...

Re: Thinking of going fully to Wise

So why do they specifically request an NIE (not residency)?

After all, all they need is an NIE for tax purposes - residency is irrelevant

Re: Thinking of going fully to Wise

No sh*t sherlock!

Sorry, shouldn't be rude but I do know that.

The previous post stated that one had to show NIF or DNI so this obviously means a non-resident with a NIE (NIF - same thing)...

Re: Thinking of going fully to Wise

The green (CUE) certificate is just fine.

As spainrico says, why not use one of the Spanish online accounts - there is even one for non-residents then you have no issues and no fees!
