It is possible for UK citizens to work in Europe, they need to meet the criteria, same as for any other country in the world.

Firstly, which visa are they sponsoring you for? There are both temporary (like 482) and permanent sponsored visas.. If its only for a few years that sounds like a 482 but please check.
