Whilst your visa is NOT entitled to Medicare, because you are from UK, you are an 'approved' country for reciprocal treatment, thus you can get a medicare card.

From an "Aussie" perspective, there are no 'bad' parts of Canberra compared to say bigger cities such as Sydney. I personally would live in any canberra suburb. No one suburb has "all bad people"...

As others have said on this forum, Canberra is divided up into 'satellite' cities, which include Tuggers and Gunghalin.

Both of these are the opposite ends of town, thus you can't ride to work...
