Re: depressing article

Not sure what they are using to shoot people then, but it's definitely happening! This is just in Boston, who knows what the figures are for the entire US!

"The number of shootings in Boston has...

Re: depressing article

Hmm, seems I've really started something here. I wasn't trying to "diss" the US or make out that it sucks or is horrendous, or anything. I was just trying to make a point that there is always going...

Re: depressing article

I think that the person who wrote the article should try living in the US for a while - she would think Canada was wonderful if she did! Admittedly we are worse off in terms of pay here than we were...

Re: Vancouver courier

My company uses DHL - http://www.dhl.ca/ratetariff/
It would probably cost about $20 for them to pick up the envelope and take it to the post office. They will send it out to the UK, but I think...

Re: Vancouver courier

Where in Vancouver is your friend? If they are in the Downtown area I would be happy to pick up the card and mail it to you. I don't know of any "inexpensive" couriers unfortunately....

Re: My experience of being back

Great post, and good for you for admitting that the move back may not have been what you really wanted after all! I left the UK 16 years ago and have lived in Oz, Hong Kong, and the US. Although I...

Re: Just got a mortgage!!

See, that's our problem...now I'm no math whizz, but 35% of $300,000 (which seems to be an average price in Downtown Vancouver) is around $105,000. Who has that kind of money in cash to put down...
