I called the embassy this morning and they said if I wanted to apply for the sb1 I would have to make sure that I believed 9 FAM 42.22 N5 applied for me and I would have to pay the fee. Of course...

I did not send a check at all. It was my understanding that I was supposed to send the check after they reviewed the application. This is what the lady at the embassy told me. :zzz:
