Tons of Brits have second homes in the US..
If you want it as a holiday home that you will use a lot then it could be cheaper to own...we use ours about 4/5 months of the year the cost of renting...

Not been here to read and post forever..but reading the first post we took a 10% pay cut back in May..hubby got 2 extra days off a month...it was hard at first..but now we like the extra time more...

All I can say is 3 times now my dad has had to pay out in the UK to keep my mum alive..20/30 thousand pound a shot is hard to find when you are retired..

if you want it as a second home and can use it a lot yourself and can afford to not rent...then fine...I think along route 27 is a long term good buy...but renting is a mugs game...

I drove on my Brit license for a year...I was told by both the DMV and my Ins company that it was OK...the State trooper who I took my test with asked how long I'd been driving in the USA I told him...
