A lot of longer term visitors or residents of Thailand tend to look down on Kao San area as being full of the great unwashed and having a lower class of visitor .
Personally , I'm not anti the place...

Watched the video last week. If these people really hate the way of life in the UK that much then they should leave. Come to Saudi, where ironically they would not have the freedom to protest in that...

You say that , but in many ways not staying in the city would be a lot more suitable . The first reason is that if you are there in the thick of it there is a tendency to get sucked in to the whole...

seeing how everything can be downloaded from the internet these days , why can't there be segregated cinemas in Saudi ?

Got 2 kids and we miss watching things like Cars / Kung Fu Panda / Madagascar...

Once a year you get a one year visa . Within that one year you have to report to the local immigration every 90 days . You can report by post to save yourself the trip or go down there yourself .

Compared to other countries it's fairly straightforward. For a one year retirement visa you need about 16k GBP in a Thai bank account before you apply. Then report to local immigration every 90 days....

Wouldn't say the weather is the problem , it's only really hot in Saudi for 4 months .I'm guessing that as a teacher you probably wouldn't be there in July and August either as it's the holidays . ...
