Re: Buying a Leasehold Flat - Survey? Or Not?
Hi - Thanks for the reply and welcome to the site (notice its your first post) What you say underlines the importance of a 'good solicitor' to check what exactly you are liable for.

Re: Holidaying in Malta?
I first holidayed in Malta in 1976: the thing I remember about the buses (many dated from the 1950s then, or even earlier) was that there was always a little statue of the Virgin Mary, just behind...

Nevertheless, I...

Predictable praise for Sir Alex Ferguson appears in the media, to mark his 25 years as manager of Manchester Utd.
David Beckham talks of it being an "honour" to play under him - no hard feelings...

Hi Folks
I shortly hope to buy a leasehold flat in Kent. The building dates from the 1890s.
I know the conventional wisdom is 'always have a survey carried out by a Chartered Surveyor' - but I'm...

I noticed the magic words retired to Sweden; what part of the country are you in? I'm between Stockholm and Uppsala by the way.
There don't seem to be many of us in Sweden (at least on...

Re: New Euro Deal Enough??
The 'headline' grabbing details are known (investors in Greece will lose out etc) but other details are still to be worked out.
For example, Europe's leaders want to have a bigger 'bailout' fund -...
