Re: Where Are They?

Simple question, what are you doing in a Spanish forum? I've no idea why you are here, you don't appear to have any interest in Spain, but you seem to think your presence will somehow enrich our...

Re: Telegraph Spain bashing ....... again

I've asked a similar question before, the Grauniad , Torygraph el al have all come on for a slating, along with the leftist BBC, so where they get their reliable info from, I don't know.

Re: Buenas Tardes todo!

Or ask the hundred odd thousand Spanish that have emigrated to UK, unable to get jobs at home. The job situation in UK is very different to that of Spain.

Re: Spanish economy

Agree, I was recently discussing Spain via e-mail with a Spanish friend, successful businessman, and he ended his post with the following, if we'd have said that we'd have taken some flack!;)

Re: move to majorca in 5 years time with £100000

Re: Considering Moving to Spain

I think it would depend on your experience of living in Spain, but generally the advice is to rent first, make sure it's for you, then buy a property. The experience gained can be vital, it doesn't...

Re: Spanish economy

Must admit I felt the same when reading that, I merely said "whistling in the dark" ie talking the game up,putting on a brave front, but it's unlikely to happen anytime soon" To say all POV's are...

You'll feel at home there, just pop up the road for some skiing! ;) As has been said, Granada lovely as it is, can get very cold in winter. I speak to my brother in Sweden on skype, and in winter...

Re: school system and childcare

Factor in hundreds of pounds a year for school books, trip etc. The others here will tell you more about that, but I have read here of some quite large figures quoted, especially if you have a couple...

Re: Moving to Spain

There seem to be quite a few living there now where hubby works offshore, so I guess for them, they'd be away anyway for weeks at a time. I remember a guy in a village we visit and he used to commute...

Re: Moving to Spain

You could be forgiven for thinking that, it's unbelievable! I thought it might have been just me that was having problems working out how this was ever going to work out financially....

Re: Telegraph Spain bashing ....... again

Ta, haven't seen that, but also enjoy a bit of Comando Actualidad for what is actually happening in Spain, rather than someone telling us a few busy bars in Madrid means the country is booming. Some...

Re: Telegraph Spain bashing ....... again

I'm a big fan of Salvados, they go for the jugular, just watched a programme about help available for the old, disabled etc, (more accurately, help not available) absolutely appalling. Kudos to Jordi...

Re: Telegraph Spain bashing ....... again

No, nor me, but some seem to have a persecution complex where Spain is concerned, they seem to think the the British press, BBC etc are all out to get them simply because they are giving us the...

Re: Telegraph Spain bashing ....... again

Certainly not a job I would want, they are damned if they do, damned if they don't. We might all have our own ideas about what is or isn't acceptable, at the end of the day is down to the mods. We...

Re: Denia - yes or no

Can't help, not sure anyone can really, just reading today of Spanish people desperate for work, one summed it up, "You have to be a God to find work in Spain,"
I'm sure you already know how...

Re: Spain's export boom and economy bouncing back

Exactly the same as if I had paid the full price, if I trade a car in or sell privately, they haven't a clue what I paid for it. I change the car every two years, and of course you lose quite a bit...

Re: Spain's export boom and economy bouncing back

Yes, I've never used the likes of quidco, but there are certainly some good cash back deals, I didn't mind filling out the form when they gave me £2750 off a new car! Perhaps I should have told them...

Re: Spain's export boom and economy bouncing back

Agree, a sale is a sale, it's solely a question of how large the profit margin is. As you say, there are bargains to be had everywhere, had an e-mail this morning from the camera shop, they are...
