Re: A new appreciation of NZ

No, not naive, so no need to be condescending. I've lived in four different areas in NZ, and about ten in the uk and based on experience in my opinion (if I am allowed to have one) is that NZ is...

Re: A new appreciation of NZ

I know there are good kind people in the uk too, but unfortunately the scary crimes just make you suspicious of everyone. It's a big shame.
And it hasn't happened to me in the uk as I made sure I...

Paranoid much? :frown:

I'll slink off to...

Re: Pet insurance

Can't you 'pretend' he's almost 8?? I mean, lots of dogs come from the pound, you can't tell exactly how old they are:sneaky:. Do his vet records say he's 8?

Re: Pet insurance

Pet Plan gets my vote too. Easy to deal with and they have the most user-friendly policies (used to process the insurance claims for the vet clinic I worked in). They are the least likely to...

Re: Ditching SKY and using Freeview/Internet

Thanks for the info, I hate giving money to Sky and we've been searching for an alternative for a while now.

Just one question:
*Techno-phobe alert* Just putting that out there first :o

Re: 09.26am today

I have also added curry powder to my emergency kit, the rationale being I can pretty much eat anything curried, even my dogs at a push. Thought it might come in handy in a disaster.

Re: Area to live: Rural + Land + Back to basic

Kumeu or Riverhead are both lovely if you have $$$$$$ to spend.
Otherwise possibly Oratia, Swanson on the West side, or Whitford on the East (again $$$$)
Travel from those places to CBD every day...

Question Anyone moved from NZ to Oz?

We've been in NZ for 8 years from the UK and we've had enough.

So as not to sound like the typical whingeing pom I won't go into details why (there are other sites to use for sounding off!) but...
