yes a lot of insurance policies are voided if property left empty for more than 30 days... a lot of expats dont realise there is a change to insurance terms etc.

unfortunately its catch twenty two... you have to be resident to get cover from here... you are not... you are not resident in uk so you cannot get an online one... so unfortunately you cannot get...

lulu is hardly very far... all the other islands will be much further out... just find a spit of sand to moor up on.

yeh i know that doh!!!! what i was pointing out was that the first "mall" being marina mall was built in 99..... so even then it was changing... so to say that nothing has changed come 2005 how can...

be aware that al ghadeer rates are being raised just the same as the rest of abu dhabi.. as the housing stock is always much less than dxb, hence why in dxb you always get more for your money! even...

hahahah auh "has" changed "hugely", for one nothing was off the island before... i was one of the first people brave enough to move into kca, and the looks i got when i said thats where i lived way...

hmmmm dxb is still less expensive than auh... and its not going to get any better as there is a shortage of units coming online.... some areas were mentioned just recently that they have declined in...

fyi;you cannot live legally in any of the areas along the main ad/dxb highway.. only in al ghadeer as its private, and al reef or hydra otherwise then you must look at areas such as raha/kca/kcb etc

they mean your alevels, ie they usually require your latest results so normally that you would a degree, if you dont have that then they say high sch which to me in uk terms is alevels etc.

if you are renting out properties then you can get the non resident landlord scheme. you need to google hmrc as the rules have changed re tax.. it used to be 1 complete tax year to be tax free but...

nope dont think so.. hence why people just renew it without being "technically" resident. but if you are a long term expat whats the point of paying 14quid each 10 years for something that you arent...

yep the car hire places can go online to find out the info when at the desk, but then this will take some time... or you can download a pdf before you go to speed up the process.

this is a moot point as the title states here its british "expats", so as a non uk resident you shouldnt have your uk licence any more ..... you cannot use it if you are not living in the uk so you...

but if you are working "temporarily" then thats the key!! some people may well flout the rules... but a lot of unis will send an additional assessment form out which has to be filled in, also you...

the rules are clear... if you are temporarily away working and having other ties to the uk (this will only apply to certain countries, as if you work in a country overseas that you can take up...
