Hello all – this will be my last post on BE.

Sheila and I met online in 1997. It’s so commonplace now that no one gives a second thought to it... but in those days, it was still pretty new – and...

Re: Use of middle name in Adjustment of Status AOS paperwork

If you want your green card to have your middle name, use it. If not... then don't.

Re: Applying for K1 visa for UK citizen living in a third country

Very often, the only way to know for sure is to submit the petition and see what happens. If they accept the petition for processing... great! If they don't, the entire package including the fee will...

Re: Applying for K1 visa for UK citizen living in a third country

Sorry, but it doesn't work that way.

Once the non-USC fiancé gets a K-1 visa, you will then move to the US and get married... and only after you are married in the US will your non-USC husband...

Re: Is this game over?

He will not need a waiver. Waivers are required to overcome an inadmissibility to the US. Since he'd already be in the US in legal status, no further waiver would be required.

However, when it...

Re: Being a doctor in UK vs USA

Your list suggests that you're looking at this as an either/or lifetime proposition with no chance whatsoever to change your mind down the road.

Re: Green Card Application and SSN query

As an L-2 spouse, you were eligible to get a SSN prior to getting an EAD... but it wasn't a requirement for you.

Re: Nonimmigrant Visa Waiver of Ineligibility Application

You'll be tied to your L-1 sponsor until you get an EAD (or your green card), but after that you can work for anyone you want... including yourself. Yes, you can apply for naturalization 3 years...

Re: Nonimmigrant Visa Waiver of Ineligibility Application

No - but since you're now in the US, why would you want to bother?

No, and no.

Oh dear god, why bother? They're not going to answer your questions or give you any advice.

Re: B-1 Visa Advice

ESTA is permission to travel to the US... nothing more or less than that. Once you arrive, you must then ask permission to enter the US. That decision is at the sole discretion of the CBP officer at...

Re: Questions about Affidavit of support (i-864)

He is not responsible for what his parents have done. The truth is he did not file a tax return.

He should indicate what income he earned, and then attach a note indicating that it is below...

Re: Nonimmigrant Visa Waiver of Ineligibility Application

There's a reason that we refer to it as the misinformation line.

Why have you assumed that they know? They're not the ones who send off the letter... they're simply 3rd party contractors who...
