Re: Online Visa - Filling forms

If you don't have anywhere to stay, leave it blank or put something like 'not yet arranged'

You'll be staying indefinitely

Date of arrival - put when you plan to arrive. An approximate date is...

Re: sponsorship.......

I believe you could apply after 2 years, not 3, assuming you meet the necessary criteria. That's for ENS. If you score enough points for a skilled visa then you can apply any time you like.

Is...

Re: Do you think you'll ping-pong?

Thank you. There really aren't words for how excited I am.

Strange really since six months ago I was telling people I wanted to stay here forever. It's only when we decided to give up that I...

Re: Child Restraints

Hi Ann, thanks for that. My sister is (hopefully) picking us up so maybe she'll be able to borrow one from a friend or something.

I'm really surprised that Australian seats aren't acceptable. I...

Re: Cheese

As others have said, the good ones are out there if you're prepared to hunt for them and pay through the nose. Supermarket cheese is awful stuff, but you kind of get used to it.

No unpasturised...

Re: Subcass 175-Police check & medical required?

You're welcome.

Just be aware that if you don't provide medical results and police checks until reuested the application will take longer to process as the case officer will have to wait for the...

Re: shall i do it or not

Is this for your own application, Mary? If so, are you doing IELTS to score 25 points? If so, then you don't need the IELTS test when you lodge the application. It's only non-native speakers who...

Re: Certifying Documents for the NIA

Well to my mind, all three organisations are assessing the same things for the same end result, so it really just comes down to who's easiest to work with. I always had better experiences with ICAA...

Re: Terminal 5 - Did you get caught?

At least they built it the right way round, unlike the new fire station in Bathurst, NSW, as I saw on the news the other night.

Re: medical and pcc

Yes, health and character checks are the final things for the case officer to assess, so if your meds and police checks have been requested then it's a good sign that you're coming to the end of the...

Re: Certifying Documents for the NIA

The NIA are real buggers. You might want to look at going with ICAA instead - they're much more flexible when it comes to issues like this. Much easier to work with too, in my experience.

Re: hi, new menber looking for help

If you have management experience, perhaps you could look at getting your skills assessed by the AIM and going as the main applicant instead? This would depend on whether you need MODL points, of...

Re: Health Insurance help???

I don't know about rebates etc. Perhaps a tax agent would be a better person to contact?

Try these guys though - their policies are specifically for S/c 457 holders: http://www.aushealth.com/

Re: Why do employers offer subclass 457 visas rather than permanent residency?

The problem with the 457 is that the visa holder is vulnerable and the employer has all the power. All of it. And I say this as someone who's not only been shafted as a 457 holder, but also someone...

Re: Middle name problems

Yes, the important thing is to apply with the name that's on your passport. Any abberations can be explained elsewhere in the application.

Re: HELP SON WONT GO WITHOUT GIRLFRIEND

Gotcha, sorry my days are pretty stressful at the moment - maybe it's dulling my brain :)

You do still need an appointment if you want your application to be lodged and assessed the same day, btw,...

Re: Child Restraints

Aw rats, are you serious? Do they sell them at the airport? Otherwise I don't know how I can lawfully get Beatrice from the airport to my sister's house!

Ok, one more thing to think about then! ...

Re: HELP SON WONT GO WITHOUT GIRLFRIEND

Yes, I'm sorry but I'm with Polly on this one. It's certainly possible to rock up and apply without evidence and you certainly don't need an appointment to just lodge an application. And I'm not...

Re: Assurane of Support

I've seen requests for AoS from UK nationals, but it's usually from less experienced or really picky case officers. We always got the requests withdrawn though.

Re: Assurane of Support

If the case officer requests an AoS just send a letter with evidence of your income etc and request that he withdraw the request for an AoS. The more evidence of income you can provide the better -...

Re: Smoking--->> will that create problem?

As the others have said, smoking in itself is not a reason to fail a medical examination. Damage done as a result of smoking, however, may be consideration.

Make the application with your name as it appears on your passport and birth certificate. I also suggest sending a statutory declaration explaining the situation so they realise why other documents...
