Millions of years I would imagine. However, there are some folks down here who believe that the world is only 6,000 years old despite the scientific proof which says otherwise !

This is Gooseneck State Park in southern Utah last Monday. There are four successive goosenecks carved by the San Juan river some 1,000 feet below. A little known gem near Mexican Hat, AZ.

I agree, the "roads" in the Valley are atrocious. They do run tours in in open topped vehicles but that is a bit of problem for photographers, not that I can claim to...

Here's one I took in Yellowstone last Saturday. This is the mother grizzly, the cub is just a few feet away, right beside the road and seemingly oblivious to we gawkers !

If you enlarge the picture you should be able to see the river. It's almost in the center of the shot.
