Re: Winter 2017-18

So for the last few days we've been anticipating another storm on Thursday.

Originally 10-15, then 5-10. It's been accompanied by a red special weather statement that has said it's difficult to...

Re: Winter 2017-18

Not sure what we had last week but possibly the biggest single storm of the winter. The City Plow passed three times in the night!

Currently -13/-23 and another snowfall due Thursday.

Re: Winter 2017-18

In the last half hour we've had a blizzard (the third one of the day), blazing sunshine and then pouring rain.

Gloriously sunny again now. Oh...no it's not, it's overcast.

Re: Winter 2017-18

The City plow came around this afternoon and put a nice ridge across the drive. Our nice neighbour extended his snowblower run down his sidewalk and across hour drive, so that when I did our steps,...

Re: Winter 2017-18

It was because I had said that we probably needed a record March snowfall to get around the usual winter total and what's coming for the end of this week was going to be nowhere near enough but now...

Re: Winter 2017-18

I don't know if this is place specific but I think TWN - at least the website - is pretty good for Moncton.

Certainly you can see nothing remarkable predicted within the next three days and three...

Re: Winter 2017-18

It's coming...
When I was up this morning at 6.30, the forecast for the next 7 days was just the odd cm here and there.

Now it has 10-15 on Friday and 5-10 Saturday. So maybe a 25cm storm.

Or...

Re: Winter 2017-18

I was exaggerating a little (but only a little) to make the point. ;)

By overnight I mean that when the snow starts in the afternoon or early evening, you go to bed and then wake up to snow two...

Re: Winter 2017-18

I phoned my mum earlier (birthday today) and it sounds like they've got more snow on the ground than here.

That's Bristol where I never once had to shovel any snow. My brother said it snowed three...

Re: Winter 2017-18

While reading that about so little snow falling in three continuous days - because 30cm really isn't much for 3 days - I assumed that was about the UK.

See, this is what I mean about...

Re: Winter 2017-18

Red warning for freezing rain tonight
14c tomorrow.

According to moncton weather stats.ca we've had 43cm so far this month. Not sure how, as we've only had one moderate storm.
But the...

Re: Winter 2017-18

Lots of freezing rain last night. Steps salted so they're safe enough and the newspaper was delivered to the mailbox at the side of the door, whereas on an icy day last week the woman understandably...

Re: Winter 2017-18

Warning - the snow is forecast to become mixed with ice pellets and then change over to freezing rain or rain before ending.
Every predicted storm of 10cm or more this winter has had this warning...
