Re: Tele

We quite enjoyed the first series - despite a few questionable plot decisions, it was a novel and entertaining show. Then series 2 came along and was really silly/boring. What series are we up to...

Re: Tele

No one else watching Big Little Lies? The final episode was on HBO last night, and was a great conclusion to the story. I'm already watching it again from the start!

Re: Tele

I'm really enjoying 'Big Little Lies' on HBO. At first, when the g/f started watching it, it seemed full of annoying, inconsequential squabbling, but as I started to pay more attention, I've learned...

Re: Tele

True. Thinking about it more, what I enjoyed perhaps most about "The Crown" was the insight it gave into the whole 'palace staff' situation; not the same as the 'downstairs' staff, but the whole...

Re: Tele

I'm finally getting drawn in to Victoria on PBS. G/f was watching it and I ignored it but finally I'm starting to appreciate it, and will try to catch all the episodes from the beginning. Sort of a...

Re: Tele

What does the team think about 'Stranger things' on Netflix? It just won a bunch of awards, so i'm wondering if its worth it.

Was somewhat disappointed by 'the Medici' so not sure I want to...

Re: Tele

I saw all 10 on Netflix over the past few weeks. I just went back to Netflix, and re-opened 'the Crown' ... I see 10 episodes available, from 1 "Wolferton Splash" to 10 "Gloriana".

Re: Tele

How many episodes / series so far? I've watches all of them, multiple times, and still feel it's one of the best things I've ever seen.

Re: Tele

There were 10 episodes ... maybe you fell asleep through some ? :)

I found it very educational as a Brit - I knew little about Churchill and Eden, and the inner workings of 10 Downing St, and...

Re: Tele

Not only descriptive bits like sounds and actions, but also, sometimes, composer and similar info ("Bach's concerto #3 plays in the background"). We heard some awesome music in a movie once,...

Re: Tele

My g/f is almost totally deaf, so uses subtitles (closed captions). I've learned to appreciate them greatly, even though I have the hearing of a bat!

Re: Tele

Rob Lowe - I still can't get over his performance in 'Parks and Recreation'! I'll watch anything with him in it now.

Re: Tele

I stumbled across 'the crown' on netflix last night. Ended up getting hooked, watching 3 hours.

I am completely not interested in the Royal Family, considering them by and large a waste of space,...

Re: Tele

I'm still hanging in there with Westworld. The 'premise' is so full of promise, and the scenery is breathtaking. But they really need to get some 'direction' at some point.

The fact that the...

Re: Tele

Anyone watching 'Westworld' on HBO? Supposed to be their next big thing after GoT. We watched it and enjoyed it very much; lots of potential. The general storyline offers so many interesting...

Re: Tele

Does Game of Thrones get discussed here or elsewhere?

Saw the finale of Season 6 last week, and just began a binge watch of season 1. The show is still holding itself together after all these...

Re: Tele

We have followed Last Ship from the beginning, and I'd rate it as just about worth the watch. Definitely some gaping holes in the plot, but overall an interesting concept and just enough to keep us...

Re: Tele

We are still hanging in there with 'Elementary', which moves to a Sunday night timeslot this week. Some of the individual crime plots are a bit weak, but the overall character developments are still...

Re: Tele

My g/f started watching series 1 in 'catchup' mode, where we saw all the episodes in one week. Was pretty good, and looked forward to the second series.

The underlying storyline is really very...

Re: Tele

How about "The Leftovers", on HBO?

I stumbled across it one night, and caught the 'pilot'/first episode, where approx. 2% of the population disappear in some kind of religious rapture. The show...

No one seems to be discussing Game Of Thrones ... is there a dedicated thread somewhere? Since it's the most popular show on the planet, I'd expect more chatter!

I became addicted thanks to my...

Re: Tele

Wow. I wonder how they got out of their obligations to Comcast/etc. They've wanted to do this for ages but have been prevented by their contracts. This is good news!

I finally got into "Parks and Recreation" last weekend. My g/f's nephew has a netflix account and we had a marathon 10+ episode session the other night. I just love the various characters...
