You're also applying for a first adult passport though I think? This thread is about child passports, so timescales in it are not really relevant to your case.

Nobody will get upset, but I'm wondering if maybe something is getting lost in translation? Not sure if English is your first language, but 'at least' means 'at the minimum' i.e. likely to be longer...

BIP has already told you that the letter isn’t likely to make any difference to processing time though.

The more time they spend replying to emails, the less they will spend on actually processing applications.

Still well within the timescales quoted - BIP said *minimum* 8 months, and told you previously that 12 months should be expected.

Constantly emailing them for updates will just slow things down,...

No, it didn't work! If you click the paper clip symbol you can just attach a JPEG or similar and that should be fine.
