New cars reasonably priced, 2nd hand bloody expensive. Only prob (as far as we understand it) is if u bring ur car over u cannot sell it here and just need 2 run it into the ground.

Went 2 an expo and spoke 2 pension people. Pretty sure its a year u've got 2 transfer (might b 6 months tho.....so long since i was there) Defo tax free 4 that period. Loads of companies specialise...

To put it into perspective for u, I applied 2 QAS in May 07, interviewed in Dec 07, firm job offer April 08, visa granted July 08. Think most people are similar time scale tho some a bit quicker....

Took between 4 and 5 wks for processing. Not long. Looking forward 2 meeting u all n having loads of barbies :thumbup: And loads of aussie shiraz of course!!!! Gonna buy a hammock:rofl:

Given choice of induction dates so gonna start 27th Oct as gives us time to get...

Police checks and a few wee other bits then wait 4 date 4 interview. Do u know when they over next? There isn't really any point getting medicals, etc until u get offered a job. Afraid it just...

Yeah, mine away, tho would have been gone 3 weeks earlier if some silly person had not put a note on it 2 say not 2 submit cos I was in Oz :curse: I WASN'T!!!!! Obviously got me confused with someone...

Am in sort of same boat. Have sold my house, car and living with my parents:unsure:Would like 2 make Sept induction 2....suppose it just depends how long the visa takes. Desperate just 2 get there...

I was given a year off (that was what I asked 4) but terms and conditions didn't suit so decided against taking it. Also said on offer that u could not take up a substantive post during that time....

Hey Tilly,Had the medical about 2 wks ago. Nothing 2 worry about. General chat, bp and some bloods. Apparently takes them about a week 2 process it and then they send it straight 2 Oz.
