I regretted it as soon as I got here, if I'm honest. I wish I'd listened to more of the realistic stories on BE about life here - the het, the humidity, the red tape, the work culture, health care...

As one who sees government employees regularly assaulted both mentally, verbally and even physically by members of the public who we are trying to help, I fail to see how anyone can call our roles...

Yep, its a whole different lifestyle, and one that would soon pall for any lover of bright lights and big cities.

For sure! Gales from the Southern Ocean one day, hot winds from the west the next. Love the place for its diversity of weather....and for its pubs from which to watch that weather changing!

The perfect Christmas for me -cold :thumbup: I've been in Hobart over New Year when its been freezing, but then it has good pubs, with real fires, bit like the UK.
