First year is basically 8 weeks at college Mon-Fri 8-4 ish. The 10 weeks on road as P1 doing 12 hr shifts 4 on 5 off, then 10 wks ICP on doing same shifts then just continuing as ICP on shifts. Work...

block applied for was free on station. Too many off in sector! They have blocked all leave applications until end of June so doesn't matter what station I'm at really

Haven't heard anything lately about LA. Do know that they are very short and holes in rosta's everywhere. So much so that they are not granting any leave until the end of June when it will be...

Have you sent all your RPL stuff in? They normally inform you of what level you've been assessed as. For ICP it is 8 wks induction,10 wks P1 and 10 wks ICP

P1 wage is enough for single guy in...

Couldn't agree more! It is difficult to get those extra points unless your partner has a job also on the list. My LA visa approval took 3 weeks after applying. I wonder how long the whole process...

Would the service have to offer you employment (sponsorship) before you were able to apply for a visa?
Think you get a certain amount of points as a Paramedic but would still need the extra points...

They have just interviewed for an ICP course and are in the process of upgrading current level 4 staff to ICP status so may keep some of the discontent down for a while.

Hi, Yes still enjoying it. Had viva last week which I passed. Have 4 weeks left then hopefully get the letter confirming my ability to practice as an ICP.

With regards to choosing your station, it is not for the induction period. That should be your permanent station AFTER your induction.

The $1600 per fortnight is for the 8 weeks in college. You remain on that basic for the following 20 weeks but get your shift penalties and O/T on top. Get your ICP uplift once 28 weeks completed....

Hi, Midazolam is used by ICP's for only post intubation sedation to reduce agitation.
