thanks pommiegirl,

me confused!

Im not sure why they are offering me a 457 visa and not permanent residency as i have 3 years experience...just assumed that was standard procedure for techs,...

Im a tech and applied to qas in june 2006, passed interview in march 2007 and am still waiting. be interested to know if there are other techs in this position?

but if you get pr with queensland before you leave uk, dont you have to commit so many years to qas or you will lose your pr visa?

noticed on the eligibility form the question about whether you are a para level 3 or above.

this suggests to me to be eligible for employment and to get pr visa you need to be this level

I think its safe to say you have by no means missed the boat. qas are gonna be recruiting for several years and taking on several hundred uk techs and paras. qas are desperately short of paras. if...

I applied in May/June last year. waited till march this year for interview. still waiting on job offer. you need a great deal of patience im afraid, but it will happen eventually
