Re: Kim Jong Un

My understanding is that most of those artillery pieces don't have the range to hit Seoul (700 out of 14,000), and if SK hasn't put in place defensive measures over the decades that this has been a...

Re: Kim Jong Un

Yeah, my only thought is 'small man' syndrome. He wants a bunch of nukes on a bunch of ICBMs so that he can strut around saying "you must give me this, or else" and dictating to others.

Plus he...

Re: Kim Jong Un

Their problem then is that this test seems to have resulted in a large collapse (creating a 4.1 quake of it's own). If that breached containment on the explosion chamber, then radionuclides will get...

Re: Kim Jong Un

I'm not sure how you could square a 6.3 quake with 100kt. Take a look at the seismic

Given the dissipation etc. you have to be well into the several hundred...

Re: Kim Jong Un

The picture released is plenty small enough. However no way of knowing if it's real.

Re: Kim Jong Un

Possible, but at the very top of the range.

I'm getting the feeling 6.3 translates into a megatonnage larger than they expected, and into the thermonuclear range (which is what they were claiming...

Re: Kim Jong Un

Hmm, well a 6.3 quake equates to about a megaton nuke explosion, or even bigger, which means (very probably) a thermonuclear warhead - a hydrogen bomb.

Re: Kim Jong Un

There is quite a difference between being lied to by a bunch of criminal politicians via the media, and actively lying yourselves. The alt-right fake news lot really should be classified as...

Re: Kim Jong Un

Ahh, you just quoted a loony 'alt-right' site. Besides them making a habit out of being wrong, we know that they favour isolationist policies.

Problem is, North Korea DOES need to be dealt with....

Re: Kim Jong Un

Blast falls off the fourth power, meaning the radius doesn't push up fast in relation to the explosive 'power'. Radiation etc. are with distance squared, but then you have shielding from nearer...

Re: Jong the M**g

Sarky :frown:

N Korea have demonstrated the ability to explode fission bombs in 2006, 2009, 2013, January and September 2016. They are talking about the Jan 2016 being a hydrogen bomb, debatable,...
