The problem with that is that they would need PROOF of the divorce, as far as they are concerned without that you could just put any details.

Some countries are considered more high risk of forged documents etc than others, also there are countries where peoples names are more likely to match ones on the watch lists.

I feel that the biggest problem over these visas was the time delay people were expecting, which was correct BEFORE Sheffield took over all the processing. People on here are expecting that quick...

That seems to be a common fault with visa sites, they are not updated in any sort of timely fashion, it's not confined to the UK.

What they said was they would UPDATE YOU by 31st October, and that is what they have done, Sorry it's so frustrating but the time span is still a lot quicker than many other western countries.

The 'not straightforward' could mean anything, from them having to do some extra checks on one part of the application, to you, possibly, having the same or very similar name as someone on a watch...

No, currently ALL applications are processed in Sheffield UK. they may outsource some to other places, but the number you have to call is the UK one.
