Re: Nonimmigrant Visa Waiver of Ineligibility Application

The problem is that the info on the US embassy website may well not be current or correct, and, in any case, the people there have official permission to lie about timings etc.

Re: Nonimmigrant Visa Waiver of Ineligibility Application

He's probably the most helpful of the regular posters on this thread, however he has little time for people who ask stupid questions and/or don't take notice of what they are advised.

Re: Nonimmigrant Visa Waiver of Ineligibility Application

Yes, there have been instances of a lot longer, and, there is nothing you can do, except wait.

Re: Nonimmigrant Visa Waiver of Ineligibility Application

The thing is is that visa requirements and outcomes are always changing, and do so with immediate effect usually, so what was happening two years ago is almost certainly to be different to what is...

Re: Nonimmigrant Visa Waiver of Ineligibility Application

It will be exactly the same and you will need all the document you had before, up to date ones, so any date sensitive ones from before will have to be redone.

Re: Nonimmigrant Visa Waiver of Ineligibility Application

I would consider applying now, and as to immigration once Dump is in power, well my crystal ball is very cloudy.

Re: Nonimmigrant Visa Waiver of Ineligibility Application

The post says 'e mail' so presumably that is what he was sent and, AFAIK you would need to send your passport.

Re: Nonimmigrant Visa Waiver of Ineligibility Application

No point in ringing as they will not tell you anything, it's just wait till they contact you, but it really seems as though you have very little chance of getting the visa through in time, even...

Re: Nonimmigrant Visa Waiver of Ineligibility Application

If you have been recommended for a waiver, then you will, almost certainly, get one, we haven't had any reports on here to say that anyone has had their waiver refused.

Re: Nonimmigrant Visa Waiver of Ineligibility Application

All you can do is wait I'm afraid, the US visa department does not recognise any convictions as spent as you have now found out, and this is why people on here always recommend NOT booking any sort...

Re: Nonimmigrant Visa Waiver of Ineligibility Application

There is a reason that people on here are always telling people NOT to book anything until they have the visa in hand, can save a lot of money.

Re: Nonimmigrant Visa Waiver of Ineligibility Application

Visas to VISIT the US can get waivers, especially as, in your case, it was over 10 years ago, however you would NEVER get a visa to allow you to do any work in the US, that will never change, a drug...

Re: Nonimmigrant Visa Waiver of Ineligibility Application

8 months, 9, 10, 11 and more, it all depends on the amount of checking they have to do, which also depends one your name, have a muslim one, and apply from a muslim country it will take much longer,...

Re: Nonimmigrant Visa Waiver of Ineligibility Application

What this really shows is that it's no use getting hung up on other peoples timelines, all applications are unique and will take as long as they take.

Re: Nonimmigrant Visa Waiver of Ineligibility Application

How long is a piece of string?.. no-one can tell every case is individual and the timings people are giving are their own timings, I'm sure there are people on here waiting months after others who...

Re: Nonimmigrant Visa Waiver of Ineligibility Application

No way to check, the first you will know is getting the e mail I'm afraid. Given your timelines, I would suggest considering rebooking your trip for a later date if you can as it looks as though,...

Re: Nonimmigrant Visa Waiver of Ineligibility Application

Don't book any tickets etc until you have the visa in hand, they have no idea how long the waiver will take as they are not doing it, and they are allowed to tell you anything, including just what...

Re: Nonimmigrant Visa Waiver of Ineligibility Application

I guess, from that timeline, that, in fact, they decided you didn't need a waiver, that and the fact that you got a 10 year visa, which those genuinely needing a waiver will never get.

Re: Nonimmigrant Visa Waiver of Ineligibility Application

The reason it takes the time is that they do ALL the checks again, and they all take the same time, also that the backlog has grown a bit, so you start with more people ahead of you needing the...
