I have a 3lb Chihuahua...so I could get at least 3 in a bag...or even 5 if the weight limit is 15 lbs. :D

Re: New DEFRA Regs from January 2012

If you are not flying to the UK and your dog is small it may be able to travel in the cabin...as part of your hand luggage. Between 10 and 15lb is the max weight...depending on the airline.

Re: New DEFRA Regs from January 2012

I would think it's the same time you have to wait between the blood test and travel. In your case it would be 3 months...but like Poppy girl said given them a call and find out for sure.

Re: New DEFRA Regs from January 2012

The size of crate may depend on the airline...worth checking with the airline. I thought the general rule of thumb was that the pet should be able to stand and turn around comfortably in the crate.

Re: New DEFRA Regs from January 2012

The whole point of having a dog microchipped first and then the rabies shots is so they can document that that particular dog has received the shots. If the shots are done first...where is the...

Re: New DEFRA Regs from January 2012

I think I would run the multi pet carrier by DEFRA just to make sure from the people who actually make the rules. I can understand why DEFRA are so strict about the crate sizes.

Re: New DEFRA Regs from January 2012

Re: New DEFRA Regs from January 2012

The each have to be in separate crates. I suppose you can request for the crates to be put side by side...but you won't really know if they are.

Re: New DEFRA Regs from January 2012
