Everyone round here calls them blue jays though; it's the same with Douglas squirrels being mistaken for chipmonks.


Sometimes it seems that I spend more time than I should educating the locals...

I might check that out. I currently just use photoshop, but like everything adobe does now-a-days it's just getting worse with each release. Not that I do a lot of post-processing, but it's useful...

I've got an A3 printer. It's bloody great, but you need min 220dpi and your focus has to be spot on. Most of my shots just don't cut it even though they look fine on a monitor, but the ones that do...

I've got one of them - it's a great walking around lens. The IS is actually fairly decent too.

Could be. It was walking around on the back lawn when I saw it but by the time I got the camera out it had flown off into a tree. I assume I scared it off as I've not seen (or heard) it since......

I agree. They are all out of focus apart from the terry fox one where the composition is a bit odd - eyes are drawn to the out of focus building in the background rather than the statue.
