Re: Guitar Mad People

Very nice. What do those pick ups sound like? Single coils, humbuckers or something in between?

Re: Guitar Mad People

You must have quite a collection now.

I had hoped that my daughters would be on the verge of leaving next month and my musical equipment moved into my youngest's room. C19 has out paid to that...

Re: Guitar Mad People

I have been trying to learn the run from Slash's Anastasia, show here at 0:38 : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bhRM868Oi2Q

The bit where it toggles from 15, 17 and 12th fret ascending gets me...

Re: Guitar Mad People

It is as light as a light thing and "fits" just like a strat does. I could imagine that I could play for hours with it standing up and not have any issues.

Sat down, it feels very thin when...

Re: Guitar Mad People

I had a "new guitar day" on Saturday.

Some friends and I went for lunch near L&M and I went in to see what they had and came out with this. This was the one I had ordered from Sweetwater. I set...

Very nice.

The amp plays like a charm but weighs a tonne. I wouldn't want to have to carry that up and down any stairs at a gig, I am too old for that now!

Re: Guitar Mad People

I have never owned an amp that had a foot switch to switch between clean and distorted channels. I was at L & M some weeks ago to have my amp fixed and I rented this Traynor to enable me to keep...

Re: Guitar Mad People

So, I finally finished my double neck build. The wiring diagram supplied with the kit was terrible and Solo were not much help.

Fortunately, my local luthier was happy to sort out the wiring for...

Re: Guitar Mad People

I am aware of CITES. This isnt a website issue. I received an email from SW informing me that their deal with PRS is that they are not allowed to ship to anyone outside of the US.

I can likely...

Re: Guitar Mad People

I am about 15 minutes south of Calgary.

L&M sell PRS here, although their selection in store is not always that good. I may have to order one in, but I hate doing that. I prefer to put my hands...

Re: Guitar Mad People

I have just received an email from Sweetwater saying that PRS does not allow them to ship outside of the US. Bummer!

I'll have to see if I can source one through Long and McQuade, which was...

Re: Guitar Mad People

Very nice.

By a strange coincidence, I ordered a PRS SE custom 24 from Sweetwater this morning. The second hand market here isn't particularly good. It sounds like it is very healthy near you!

Re: Guitar Mad People

I really want to be able to play the whole of "Hotel California" without switching guitars. I really hope I can get it finished this weekend. If I do, I will post a finished piccie this weekend. ...

Re: Guitar Mad People

This text should have been posted above but, for reasons unknown to me, it wasn't.

I am in the process of building a double necked Strat. I purchased a kit from Solo Guitars.

This is a...

Re: Guitar Mad People

It is a used Epiphone Dot. I didn't know how I would get on with a semi-hollow so I didn't want to go for a Gibson as, around here, the prices of them are crazy and experience has taught me that...

Re: Guitar Mad People

I know that the received wisdom was to ensure that you play in the same position sat down, as stood up, but I could never make it work.

When sat down, I like to play with the neck...

Re: Guitar Mad People

That's a real variety of genres. I love Travelling Wilburys. The guitar work of Mike Campbell on those albums is fantastic. As, of course, was his work in the Heartbreakers!
