Re: Post The Latest Picture You Have Taken

Those pickups sound very nice.

I have an Epi 1960s tribute and it came with Gibson 57s. It also has the 60s neck so is relatively slim and a similar shape to my Fenders. It is the one that get...

Re: Post The Latest Picture You Have Taken

What did you have in your Epiphone? Are the ones in the Gibson "hotter" than those in the Epiphone? I have 57's in my Epi.

Re: Post The Latest Picture You Have Taken

I am not as exotic as you are. I have just spoken to my wife and asked her how they were doing. "OK" was the response. Apparently my youngest daughter, the one that was responsible for the...

Re: Post The Latest Picture You Have Taken

38 new chicks were mailed to us today.

We had White Leghorns before, but have a number of varieties this time.

Here's looking forward to when they start laying.

Re: Post The Latest Picture You Have Taken

I've never been fishing, so please excuse my ignorance but...

If you keep them, do you kill them instantly and, if so, how is that done?

Re: Post The Latest Picture You Have Taken

We eat around 8 eggs a day between us. The chickens "belong" to my youngest daughter. She has persuaded enough of our neighbours to buy them such that we only have to give a dozen away once or...

Re: Post The Latest Picture You Have Taken

Just to bring matters up to date. We lost one of our chickens a month ago. No idea how it died, but it was on the roof of the coop under the aviary netting with no head, frozen to the roof. Minimal...

Re: Post The Latest Picture You Have Taken

It is.

Alot of the rural kids join "beef" 4H. They go to a local rancher and buy a young steer for an amount way below market price. They then use that steer as their project and, when it is old...

Re: Post The Latest Picture You Have Taken

4H is something that kids/young adults can become involved with in Canada. Here is a link to a website that explains what it is, if you are interested: 4H Canada (http://www.4-h-canada.ca/)

Both...

Re: Post The Latest Picture You Have Taken

Thanks for the advice.

I had read that, in an insulated coop, they should be alright as, I assume, they acclimatize. I am in the process of insulating it at the moment and we had electricians...

Re: Post The Latest Picture You Have Taken

I wanted to get dual purpose breeds (I know that sounds bizarre) so that, when they stopped producing, we could have something to eat. I was shot down by those that must be obeyed in our house, so...

Re: Post The Latest Picture You Have Taken

You are correct.

My youngest daughter has already started taking orders from the locals, although we eat a large number of eggs a day.

Do you heat your coop during the winter, or is insulation...
