We would prefer a wood burner in the garage coppled with a central heating on the 1st and 2nd floor. But the house has no chimney and I'm afraid it will cost a fortune to make a chimney up to the top...

Yes, we are aware of this problem. We plan to use it only when necessary and we will open all windows 20 minutes per day. Hopefully this helps to evacuate the damp.
