Re: The Trumpmare is happening... Who will win?

History also shows poorly negotiated deals can have negative effects. Maybe he approach will backfire, but it might be simply a tactic to re-negotiate and get a better trade position. Time will tell....

Re: The Trumpmare is happening... Who will win?

The whole political discourse and both parties at ridiculous, maybe strict term limits are needed. You are quite correct the purpose of the wall being the issue. It is beyond absurd that with all the...

Re: The Trumpmare is happening... Who will win?

I know you like the phrase "false equivalence" but a bit hard to find the opinions expression reflect an objective definition of what is left or extreme right. All I said is by American standards...

Re: The Trumpmare is happening... Who will win?

I think perhaps fantasy-land more aptly describes the idea of jailing republicans or saying that they are evil- same sort of mentality as many far right theories about Obama or even Clinton.

Push...

Re: The Trumpmare is happening... Who will win?

-By American historical and current standards the Democrats would be considered to the left of the political spectrum.
- When I see words like "vermin" used and "solely" the fault of one side I I...

Re: The Trumpmare is happening... Who will win?

You may be right he is crazy like a fox, and I think he realizes better than the media and the left, people are simply fed up- and with some good reasons. Ultimately though, will he be effective ? It...

Re: The Trumpmare is happening... Who will win?

Reading your comments I think much could be applied equally to the left, and that both sides have become so polarized that progress has become almost impossible. Real numbers ? I am not sure it is...

Re: The Trumpmare is happening... Who will win?

I think many of the opponents of Trump have a time grasping that his supporters are just so fed up they don't care about his problems. I mean really his behavior getting to the point how could anyone...

Re: The Trumpmare is happening... Who will win?

CNN has been against Trump form the beginning, but both CNN and NY Times just playing into his hands now. They are letting Trump develop the narrative and responding almost on cue to his antics.

Re: The Trumpmare is happening... Who will win?

For all the complaints, he did win the election with his strategy and tactics- better to be the dealer than the players ! And his antics now certainly distracting the media from more serious issues...

Re: The Trumpmare is happening... Who will win?

Anyway trying to be fair, if there is a source stating that no "real damage" was done by 59 missiles targeting one airfield, I certainly would be interested in looking at that article.

Re: The Trumpmare is happening... Who will win?

I hate to ask for sources of your information, but the idea that 59 missiles reached their target and did no "real damage" is a bit hard to believe. Where was this information from ?

Re: The Trumpmare is happening... Who will win?

I thought the communication channels with the Russians were set up under the Obama administration precisely to reduce friction between the US and Russia. Though I agree it seems pointless to give...

Re: The Trumpmare is happening... Who will win?

And if you lost your job because of regulation you would gladly accept that ? I don't think so but seems you would gladly impose that on others. Or accept that any regulation by definition is good. ...

Re: The Trumpmare is happening... Who will win?

New plants do not appear overnight. Who will provide the capital, and who will pay the workers who lose their jobs ? Certainly those who are opposed to the coal plants would hardly dig into their own...

Re: The Trumpmare is happening... Who will win?

A question : the Guardian article says that the Obama plan would have closed "hundreds" of coal-fired plants, so isn't this move by Trump saving jobs of those working at those plants ? Isnt in this...

Re: The Trumpmare is happening... Who will win?

There is something I don't understand. If Saudi Arabia and the Gulf states don't want the refugees, yet willing to Germany money to build 250 more mosques, doesn't this raise a few questions ?

Re: The Trumpmare is happening... Who will win?

Yes there is a lot of that. Then when one posts a link to an article, then the article is questioned because of the source not the merit of the article. There is a lot of that on BE, as well as name...

Re: The Trumpmare is happening... Who will win?

At least by US standards Obama and Clinton would be considered to be on the left both on cultural but also economic issues, but probably not in the UK.

Re: The Trumpmare is happening... Who will win?

And those on the left dismiss anything they classify as a "right wing" source. (Just look through most BE posts on different threads show this).

Re: The Trumpmare is happening... Who will win?

I assume many Tories would support the NHS, which would be considered to the left of center in the USA.

Obama certainly considered a leftist by many in USA, and some would apply that label to...

Re: The Trumpmare is happening... Who will win?

I guess definition of what is the left depends a lot on where one is located- certainly many Tories would support policies that would be considered to the "left" in the USA.
