It won't win any awards for flavours but it is very pleasant and easy drinking. Definitely a more dangerous whisky than most of my usuals.

And you would have been most welcome, especially if accompanied by a Yamazaki 12 - as you say, that is a very good whisky and I would highly recommend also.

Crowne Royal? I will have to google that one.

Maker's Mark is nice, but would probably go for Gentlemen Jack first. Jack Daniels is poor, JD Single Barrel is too strong for my taste but Gentlemen...
