Check the phrasing because I believe the operative word is "could" but as a non-resident they should be taxed by the UK but will not be under double-taxation agreement.

"Deferido" means it is approved. There should be a pdf which you can download which shows the NHR as being "activo" .
Under the "deferido" line should be the active dates - 2017 to 2026 in your...

Yes ! Registered after about a week, just depends on where you go to register. We did ours in Tavira at the Town Hall .

Takes a lot of paperwork, best to get a Customs agent, they charge about €400,- Process can be quite quick, ten-fifteen days if you have all the paperwork that is necessary

Do remember that, in theory, you cannot apply for residency until after your first 90 days . Until then you are still a tourist. Once that hurdle passed , yes about one month to do everything.

No did not have to do that - it was a simple form with a declaration to tick about previous residency and country and origin.
Answered back ( on the same web page ) in 48 hours

Yes you do your declaration in April for the previous tax year ( calendar year )

Driving licence rules apply when you are a resident, nothing to do with having a car.
