Not living...

Re: Net migration hits new record

So it looks as though the one/main issue highlighted is that houses are not being built to provide homes for new immigrants. No mention of drain on resources. A mention of extra cars on the road.

Re: Net migration hits new record

Yeah, I saw that report.

What they don't seem to mention is that the NZ economy is allegedly only growing because of the influx of migrants (who have to be medium-high earners) bringing in the...

Re: Net migration hits new record

"The changes would mean raising the minimum median annual income requirement to $48,859, make it harder for families of workers to enter the country, and those on temporary work visas who earn less...

Re: Net migration hits new record

As pointed out in Private Eye this month, the economy is booming because we are IN the EU.

Re: Net migration hits new record

Echoing other discussions, this is not an NZ specific problem.

One of the biggest immigration requirements in the UK is for foreign chefs; the UK doesn't apparently provide the right environment...

Re: Net migration hits new record

Just noted at the top "since 2011, we have added 250,000 people to our population but created only 181,000 jobs".

If this quote is accurate nearly 75% of the new population have jobs, and assuming...
