I've been told that once I arrive in America, I'll probably get "interrogated" as I'm traveling with a criminal conviction.

I had my interview yesterday (11-12-15). Got recommend for a waiver which I understand could take up to 8 month's to process. My question is presuming I'm successful how long will my waiver last for?...
