Wow, thank you that was something I was completely unaware of. I have also now started to get my head around regions, departments and communes.

It also gave my basic school French a work out...

That is extremely useful advice and something that I hadn't even considered at this fantasy stage which is exactly why I joined.

Hi I just joined yesterday as we are hoping to buy a property in France sometime in the next couple of years.

At the moment it is more fantasy than anything else and having found a similar forum...
