Re: Pet Peeves?

Aren't they all blunt anyway?

I remember when the tearing edge was a strip of serrated metal on the flap but they seem to have disappeared. Probably because some idiot got an 'owie' and sued the...

Re: Pet Peeves?

We have a well for irrigation. It smells like sewage. I certainly wouldn't consider drinking it.

The house is on city water and has a slight chlorine smell. We have an under-sink reverse...

Personally, I get more paranoid over the door handle after I've just scrubbed my hands clean, I then have to...

Re: Pet Peeves?

I've yet to see a standalone speed camera in the US. We do have red-light cameras in our town but not for speed. I've fallen foul of those once.

Otherwise, it's usually cops/troopers laid in wait...

Re: Pet Peeves?

Nothing as crude as hidden cops in the UK roadworks. Just a speed camera every half mile.

A few years ago, they introduced "average speed cameras" which calculate your speed between the cameras.

Re: Pet Peeves?

Several years ago, on a trip back to the UK, we needed to renew our visa stamps in London. The trip back from Grosvenor Sq to my parents home in Birmingham (about 115 miles) took over 6 hours via the...

Re: Pet Peeves?

Shortly after we arrived, I was driving a clapped-out old company mini-van which was losing oil.

Took it in for service and told them I had put nearly a gallon of oil in over the last couple of...

And just slightly deeper than our dog's tongue.

Keeps him busy for a while and gives us some entertainment.
