As above once you have the offer and the LMIA you can get the TWP at the border you don't need a pre-approval letter from the consulate.

Unfortunately it really is a 'how long is a piece of string' answer. It will all depend. As I said above thought you have very little control over this as you do not apply for the LMIA the employer...

If you are from a visa exempt country (and I think you are) and provided you have the LMIA and all the other paperwork you need (it is this which takes the time and is in the hands of your future...

Most people in BC are paid ever two weeks on a Friday. So assuming you start work the Monday after a pay day the most you would wait for salary to be paid is 12 days.

I don't think asking for a relocation package is unreasonable after all most the costs to the employer are a cost of doing business so come off as a tax write off.
Most provide it because it helps...
