I agree with you and believe the best way to do this is for governments to build homes and then they can control who the sales are too.

Especially where they can prove they have been making rent payments for a significant period which are far in excessive the mortgage payment.

Absolutely agree, but for that to work there has to be a fair and level playing field to begin with. i.e. asking an asset poorer current generation to pay more to support the current field of asset...

it is hard I'm afraid with dogs. the vacancy rate is so low that landlords have their pick of tenants and you may find yourself dropping down the list. I would target rentals from the landlord...

I think you have hit at a very interesting point. On moving to Van from London everyone here would say its so expensive, how are you finding it. To which I had to honestly reply its a little better...
