In the UK, Direct Debits are very expensive to initially register to be able to set them up - or at least were a few years ago!

In the USA, Direct Debit is the ACH system, which I don't have...

I don't think it would be reported as a cash advance as it's all in the same transaction. I don't have any evidence of this, so take with a pinch of salt.
