Re: FATCA and UK banks

Yeah that makes sense. Good to know! I couldn't find any information about credit cards apart from pre paid, so I guess I can leave this off things to think about!

I take this as credit cards with...

Re: FATCA and UK banks

Unsure which part in 8938 - potentially Part II?

So I guess it's two questions:

Re: FATCA and UK banks

Haha, I do have one last question though that might clear all this up and help me understand!

The answer I found above was specifically for the FBAR - do you assume the same rules would apply for...

Re: FATCA and UK banks

I worry a lot for no real reason it seems. Ultimately I want to make sure I am 100% compliant, and not missing something small.

I'm also about to go through the application for naturalization and...

Re: FATCA and UK banks

Haha, I really should stop worrying :)

And thanks for the tip - glad I can find old posts that way. Didn't even think to do that.

One last FATCA/FBAR question though - if someone is the...

Re: FATCA and UK banks

I believe HSBC stopped applying interest gained to checking accounts years ago - was quick a controversial thing if I remember!

And thanks for the link - for some reason that wouldn't load for me...

Re: FATCA and UK banks

Ah, interesting. That's good to know. I just wanted to make sure I am compliant :) - I appreciate the info - tax season stresses me out for no reason!

Those are the right thresholds for 8938 and...

FATCA and UK banks

Hey guys,

For an individual I know that an individual should file a form 8938 (and FBAR) to be compliant with the FATCA law. As far as I can tell, I do not need to file either of these as my...
